Every year thousand flock to a large field in Gloucestershire to witness the annual Royal International Air Tattoo or RIAT.
I usually try to get there for the whole weekend, this year the main attraction was to have been the first display of the RAF/RN F-35 in the UK, the first time it was due to appear outside of the States. Unfortunately a design fault meant that “Dave” would not be displaying, in fact they never left North America.
So instead of my namesake, the highlight was a paid of Soviet-era Jets from Poland. A pair of SU-22 Fitters were magnificently displayed and made the whole trip worthwhile.
These are pictures from the Air Display over three days.
